Having owned a successful transportation company servicing oilfield, construction and industrial sites throughout Alberta, I experienced my first home buying experience in 2005. While it was an exciting time for me, it was also very stressful and confusing.
I saw a lack of caring, questionable ethics and poor workmanship from the home builder. I could see how much parts of the industry lacked in terms of transparency and customer service, and as a business owner, I pondered how things could be made better.
Through that experience, I developed a keen interest and passion for the real estate industry. I realized that transitioning a family from one home to another is a HUGE decision and often, an emotional one that often comes with major lifestyle changes.
As the entrepreneurial wheels started turning in my head, I found myself getting excited at the prospect of creating a more positive and rewarding experience for both buyers and sellers. In 2009, I made the decision to shift gears, sell my trucking company, and apply my passion and business acumen to the real estate profession.
Over a decade later, I’ve never looked back. I’m as committed to delivering personalized, hands-on service to help my clients begin new chapters in their lives as I was when I first started.
My passion for real estate stems from my understanding of the important role community plays in everyone’s well-being. It’s important to me to give back to the community and I’m involved in many charitable and social organizations.
Some of my community involvement has included various Board positions with the Blue Quill Community League (President), the Edmonton Gateway Rotary (Membership Director), and the Go Community Centre (Director). I currently sit as Vice President on the Board of Directors for the Southwest Area Council. I was also involved with the 2013 Pay It Forward Event which raised funds towards building an elevator lift for a local Edmontonian paralyzed after a motorcycle accident.
- I grew up in Winnipeg and moved to Edmonton in 2002
- I have a passion for motorcycles. You’ll find me on the open road whenever I have the opportunity (and it’s not 30 below).
- My wife and I enjoy spending time cooking gourmet meals or exploring new places behind our cameras (when there isn’t a pandemic).
- I flew an airplane at age 3 (everyone lived).
- Our dog Bentley, is our only child, and he is treated as such.
The first time I bought a house was a less-than-desirable experience. But ultimately, that experience inspired me to be a REALTOR because I wanted to do something to make the experience better, fairer, and easier for others. I knew there had to be a better way!
Buying a house is a big deal, and homeowner concerns are all valid. No one teaches buyers or sellers about contracts, neighbourhoods, or legal matters when it comes to real estate, but I have developed all this knowledge over the last decade and I work hard to pass it on to my clients so they can make the best decisions possible.
